Swann Rd House Fire

At 04:14 AM, on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 responded to a reported house fire on Swann Rd in the Town of Lewiston. Upon our arrival, crews found the house at least 1/3 involved and began an exterior attack. Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 was able to get the fire under control despite uncertain interior conditions. The residents successfully evacuated the house prior to our arrival and were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 was able to rescue four dogs that were contained in a room in the basement, although it was difficult to access them due to the fire damage to the structure. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
